This program explains the techniques, equipment and legal requirements for traffic control workers in a road and construction environment. It will explain to the student the importance of wearing the proper reflective clothing, how to safely control traffic in a variety of construction situations, and lays out the general safety and legal requirements as per Trinidad and Tobago Occupational Safety and Health Guidelines.

This course is a requirement for personnel who are required to control traffic with a Stop/Slow bat. This course will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to perform traffic control safely for their co-workers and the public’s. • Directing traffic on different types of roadways and speed conditions
• Communication methods during traffic control
• Role of the Signaler
• Personal Protective Equipment used by Traffic control person

• Understand the role of a Traffic Controller
• Apply the procedures of traffic controlling within a worksite
• Operate a 2-way radio correctly and effectively
